The Cheti Chand festival marks the arrival of Spring and harvest and the start of Hindu New Year for Sindhi Hindus. It is seen as an auspicious day for business as it also marks the start of the new financial year.

However, it also marks the birthday of Uderolal in the year 1007, after the Sindhis prayed to Varuna, the god of the Sindhu river, to save them from the persecution by a despotic ruler named Mirkhshah. Uderolal took the form of a warrior and old man, called Jhulelal, who convinced Mirkhshah that Muslims and Hindus deserve the same religious freedoms.

Jhulelal became the key deity of the Sindhi people, and is as a bearded figure holding a book and a mala (string of beads) sitting on a fish. He is also revered by Sufi Muslims, who associate him with Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, a Sufi saint.

The festival of Cheti Chand is celebrated with fairs, feasts and processions of icons of Jhulelal and other Hindu deities. It is also celebrated by the Sindhi dispora around the world.

On that day -- a Tuesday -- India will deliver its verdict on the last five years of the Narendra Modi government. The results of the Lok Sabha election 2019 will be announced on May 23. The 2019 Lok Sabha polls will be held in a seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The seven phases will cover 543 constituencies.

Simultaneously, elections will also be held to the assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha. The results for the Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha assembly elections will be out on May 23 along with the Lok Sabha election result.

The health department of Gujarat government has issued a resolution on March 7 that any staff been engaged for election duty will get cashless health cover. The staff, in case of any illness or injury sustained during poll duties, will get all medical facilities for free at government or private hospitals.



The chief electoral officer(CEO) in Gujarat Dr S Murali Krishna said, "The cashless health cover has been provided to staff engaged in poll duties, as per the guidelines by the election commission. This facility will be available to all the government employees from administrative services, police, drivers, cleaners and other."

"Besides this, the service has been extended for the staff like drivers of private vehicles been requested for election duty, videographers and other. All these staffs will get the medical treatment at government hospitals and dispensaries, medical colleges and hospitals running on government grants.

If it is required to get the treatment from a private hospital in emergency cases, the same also will be available to all the staff after permission by concerned district election officer(collector)," the CEO added. The election commission has also facilitated Divyang voters. Special voters photo identity cards, voters slips, guide, and ballot papers printed in Braille script for visually impaired voters.

Besides this, the Divyan voters will not have to wait in queue for their turn on polling days. Special parking facilities for vehicles and protruding ramps also will be available for them. If informed to the polling staff in advance, they will get the transportation facility.

This process-centred approach could, for instance, offer the children experiments and investigations as starting points for acquiring conceptual knowledge with little or no direct teaching of concepts. In this case a conceptual structure is withheld. The onus is on the children to recall or construct a functional mental representation without reference to a teachers' description of one. Pupils might infer relationships in the topic under study and may be given an opportunity to test and revise their ideas.

Of course, other teachers might focus on a combination of these two approaches and develop scientific skills and conceptual understanding from in this combination. This mixed approach could be a balance or, perhaps, a compromise, between a product-centred and a process-centred approach, in which the teacher provides a partial conceptual structure and leaves the remainder for children to construct by inferring, hypothesising, or testing their ideas. It could encourage lessons where children do investigations with some features already identified by the teacher, and with some conceptual knowledge about the subject that enables them to appreciate the purpose of the activity. In contrast, it could encourage lessons without a clear purpose which mixed different types of activity, but did not develop either conceptual or procedure understanding exclusively.

These remains had been collected by French amateur naturalist Louis Etienne Thirioux in the early 20th century, who had found them in a cave on Le Pouce mountain, on the Mascarene Island of Mauritius. They were placed in the zoology museum by 1908. Apart from their size and robustness, Holyoak did not find the bones to be distinct from those of the Mascarene parrot genera Lophopsittacus, Mascarinus (the Mascarene parrot), Necropsittacus (the Rodrigues parrot), and Psittacula (which had two or three other species inhabiting the Mascarene Islands). Because of their similarities, Holyoak considered all these genera to be closely related
           Holyoak provisionally placed the new species in the same genus as the broad-billed parrot, naming it Lophopsittacus bensoni; the name honours English ornithologist Constantine W. Benson, for his work on birds from the Indian Ocean, and in classifying bird collections at Cambridge. Holyoak also mentioned the possibility that the remains could represent a small subspecies of Necropsittacus or a wide-beaked form of Mascarinus, but maintained that they were best considered as belonging to a distinct species. The holotype specimen is a mandibular symphysis, with the specimen number UMZC 577a. Other known remains include upper mandibles, a palatine bone, and tarsometatarsi.The species has since been excavated from the Mare aux Songes swamp on Mauritius, from which subfossils of most of the other endemic bird species have been identified as well

In 1967, American ornithologist James Greenway speculated that 17th- and 18th-century reports of then-unidentified grey parrots on Mauritius referred to the broad-billed parrot.In 1987, English ecologist Anthony S. Cheke correlated the L. bensoni subfossils with the grey parrots reported from Mauritius and Réunion, which had previously been ignored, or considered references to broad-billed parrots.Further study of contemporary accounts indicates that the broad-billed parrot was not grey, but had multiple colours
